Meet Matthew Wells, Principal Design Engineer

Tell us why you joined ResMed.

As a Product Designer, ResMed ticks all the boxes for me. The products are inspiring and their impact is huge. It’s amazing to be part of an innovative company that’s always looking forward. The products themselves are very unique and the design complexity challenges the best of your abilities. I personally enjoy all aspects of the design process and ResMed offers everything from concept generation to production.

Tell us about your experiencing working in a project so far.

I recently worked in a project developing a full-face mask. For me, the final design solution is what makes ResMed AirFit F40 special. It appears very simple but every element works in unison to provide the best user experience. So many people worked to make this happen and I am thrilled to see it come to life!

We knew making the ResMed AirFit F40 would be a challenge, but we believed in the vision and the benefits to patients. Every component had to be innovated and our team pushed for incremental gains with every iteration. The result is a mask we are so proud of!

Our entire team showed up every day with an amazing mindset focused on positive results. I believe with the right balance of curiosity and passion for innovation, you can achieve extraordinary things and we hope ResMed AirFit F40 will be extraordinary for our patients!

What are you excited about your future at ResMed?

At the moment I’m just really excited for the launch of F40. The projects been a long time coming and it becomes a huge part of your daily routine, you kind of forgot the general public haven’t seen it yet. I always enjoy product feedback, I’m especially excited to see the customer feedback.

With regards to my future, I’m excited to start some new design challenges and the potential opportunities they may bring.
